	SIR,
				     letter of 18th inst. re
		WITH reference to your  ^ notice of appeal against the Assessment upon your Company
	for the year ending 5th of April, 1916, I have to observe that the deduction
	of £50 for expenses re Royal Visit will come from the profits for
	the year to 30 Apl. 1914.		The liability is thus

		Yr. to	30.4.12	  ... £ 741}
		"   "	30.4.13	  ...  2018}
					   }
		"   "	30.4.14	  1026	   }	average £1245.
			    less    50	   }
				  ----  976}

	The reduced figure for the year to 30.4.14 will come into the
	average for the next two years.
