[Meeting of Directors held at Goodison Park,
January 27th 1914]
Present All the Directors except Dr. Baxter.
Minutes The minutes of the last meeting were read and
confirmed.
Mrs. Williams The Secretary reported that he had forwarded the form
of application for grant received from the F. A. to Mr.
Herbert Halsall to have same completed.
Clennell The Secretary reported his visit to Blackburn on
Thursday last but that Blackburn Rovers would
not reduce the price they had placed upon his
transfer £1500. That on Friday morning he
had communicated with as many Directors as possible
with the result that on their instructions he had
visited Blackburn and had completed the transfer
of Clennell on the following terms:- Transfer fee
of £1500 to the Club with a bonus of £10 and £4
per week to the player and that he had inserted
the following clause in the players agreement:-
"Provided that if the player shall by his conduct
"and ability satisfy the Club then and in such case
"the Club will during the fifth season from the date of
"this agreement grant a benefit to the player".
These terms were confirmed.
The Secretary also reported that Clennell had seen
several of the Directors and had obtained permission
from them to remain a resident in Blackpool for
the remainder of this season as he now contemplated
being married early in the close season and would
then take up his residence in Liverpool.
