[Meeting of Directors held at Goodison Park,
December 30th 1913]
Present All the Directors except Mr. Allman.
Minutes The minutes of the meetings of December 23rd & 26th
were read and confirmed.
Holbem The Secretary reported that Holbem had not been
transferred to North End as that Club were not
willing to accede to his demands for a 3 years
engagement. In this connection the Secretary
read a letter received from St. Mirren F.C. protesting
against our having demanded a fee of £25 from
Preston North End for the Central League transfer
of Holbem and requesting that such fee be placed
to their credit. The Secretary reported having
replied that the Directors could not accede to such
request - his action was confirmed.
It was nevertheless decided that if it would
assist North End in their endeavours to secure
Holbem we would as far as that Club was concerned
waive our claim to the £25 transfer fee.
The Secretary reported having spoken to Mr. Watson
re Mr. Williams' remarks at the Liverpool meeting
of Shareholders and reported Mr. Watson's assurance
that Mr. Williams referred to the Belfast Distillery
F.C.'s demands as being exorbitant and that no
reference to Everton in this connection was in Mr.
Williams' mind.
