" If the player shall serve the club faithfully " & well & by his prowess upon the field of play " fulfil the requirements of the club then & " in such case the club will upon the " completion of five years continuous service " in the manner aforesaid and subject to the " approval of the F.A. grant the player a " benefit match and will guarantee that " the amount to be received by the player in " respect thereof shall be £500."
