			on Monday 3rd Sept. 1888]

		Present John Houlding Esq. in chair
			Messrs Wilson, Berry,
		Brooks, Fleming, W Marriott,
		T. Marriott, F. Gunning, J. Richards,
		R. L. Stockton, Jackson, Howarth,
		Ramsay and Barclay.

		The minutes of last meeting were
		read and confirmed.

		The Assistant Secretary read
		a list of names of players for
		Reserve team v Bootle Reserve,
		which included A. Gibson. After
		discussion it was deemed advisable
		as Gibson did not turn up to
		captain the Reserve on Saturday
		v Saltney not to include him
		until he offered an explanation.
		Gibson was called before the committee
		and explained that he could not
		get away owing to his work
		keeping him engaged till 8 ock pm.
		This explanation was considered
		satisfactory. The Chairman then
		asked Gibson if he was willing
		to play on Tuesday v Bootle Reserve?
		Gibson replied that he wanted
		more remuneration and refused to
		play unless the committee acceded
		to his demand. After a long
		discussion in which every member
