		Committee Meeting held Monday, May 12th 1890

Present		Messrs Houlding (in the chair) Jackson, Ramsey, Wilson,
		Maxwell, Brookes, Coates, Flemming, Henderson, Clayton and
		Williams.
New Player.	It was decided that Reynolds (Celtic) if willing, be engaged
		for next season at not more than £25 on signing at £2.10 per week.

The minutes of the last meeting were read & passed.

Cox.		It was decided this player receive no more money
		for loss of work & that his agreement for £1.12.6 be adhered to.

Hammond.	In the case of this player also it was resolved not
		to deviate from the terms of the agreement.

Jolliffe.	A letter from this player was read. It was decided that
		he & Smalley be at once informed that their services
		would not be further required.

Volunteer Shield Competition. A letter was read asking for the
		use of our ground to play off the final tie between the
		5th Irish & the Cheshire Engineers. It was resolved to
		grant the use of the ground on Thursday or Thursday
		week free of charge - members of this club to be admitted
		free, & all expenses & responsibility for damage borne
		by the applicants.

Loan of Players. A letter from Mr. Midgley (Burnley) was read
		asking for the loan of Latta & Brady to play in a
		match at Burnley on May 19th for the benefit of Lang
		& Keenan. It was agreed that seeing we play
		Bolton Wanderers on that date these players could
		not be spared.
EVENTS
202 The possibility of playing baseball at the ground was considered. The ground was felt to be unsuitable.
232 Photograph of players taken at Sunderland. In was agreed that each player should have a copy. The team names: 1st and 2nd team were adopted.
243 £100 to be paid to Mr Houlding towards the Club’s loan account with him.
273 Gordon had to promise to keep in proper condition to play football
274 12 medals were ordered from Vaughton and sons.
