[Meeting held Monday December 19th 1889
(in consequence of his recent illness) at the house of
the President. Anfield Road.]
Present Messrs Houlding, Ramsey, Wilson, Maxwell,
Clayton & J. Williams. (The Secretary) and Mr. Brooks being
with the first team at Sheffield.
A letter from the Committee of Stanley Hospital received
in November/88 was ordered to be kept with the minutes.
The Minutes of last meeting being read. Robt Jones and
J. Weir were ordered to appear before the Com. on
Friday next to explain their not going with the
Reserve Team last Saturday.
Six penny admission fee to the ground last Saty.
It was decided to defer this matter for a larger
Com. & the minutes were then passed.
Resolved - that the provision of a new Turnstile for the
Boy's entrance be considered by the Ground Com.
& reported on at next meeting.
Accounts to the amount of £79.11.2 were sanctioned.
Teams for next Saturday. First for Burnley - same
as last Saturday. The Asst. Secry. was ordered to
write to the Burnley Com. concerning the behaviour
of the spectators on two occasions when our
Team have visited Burnley. (This is the letter sent)
Dear Sir
At a meeting of our Committee last night it
was reported that at the match played by our
Reserve on your ground last Saturday. Language
of a very disgusting character was shouted at
our men & at our Umpire by some of the Spectators.
Many enquiries were also made as to one of our
players coming next Saturday & coarse threats
of personal violence to this player were loudly
& repeatedly uttered. Under such circumstances
