		appointed Captain & G. Martin Sub-Captain of the
		Reserve Team.

		Committee meeting held Tuesday 17th Sept 1889

		Present Mr Brooks (in the Chair) & Messrs Coates, Currier, Ramsay,
		Fleming, Jackson, Clayton, Williams & Molyneux.

		The minutes of previous meeting read & confirmed.

		Accounts were passed for payment & signed by Chairman.

		Mr Brooks reported that he had secured a player named
		Kirkwood, but had failed to get Boyd; although he
		had great hopes of McMillan coming on.

		Resolved that the Secretary write to the Editor of the
		Athletic Journal stating that the wages list appearing
		in that paper was false & asking that he should contradict
		that statement in the next issue.

		A. Dick - that a letter be sent urging a speedy answer to
		our offer re match, as the Committee would shortly take
		into consideration the further payment of his weekly wages.

		Teams - Smalley, Hannah, Doyle, Parry, Holt, Farmer, Latta,
		Jones, Geary, Chadwick & Milward.
EVENTS
202 The possibility of playing baseball at the ground was considered. The ground was felt to be unsuitable.
232 Photograph of players taken at Sunderland. In was agreed that each player should have a copy. The team names: 1st and 2nd team were adopted.
243 £100 to be paid to Mr Houlding towards the Club’s loan account with him.
273 Gordon had to promise to keep in proper condition to play football
274 12 medals were ordered from Vaughton and sons.
