		[Minutes of Meeting held in the Sandon
		Hotel on Monday 14th Jany 1889.]

			J Houlding Esq. in the chair
Present		Messrs Howarth, Gunning, Fleming, Berry, Wilson,
		Ramsay, T Marriott, Brooks, Richards, Jackson, Stockton,
		& Barclay.

		The minutes of last meeting were read & confirmed.

		Mr. Houlding moved & Mr. Berry seconded that an honorarium
		be granted to Mr. W Marriott on his retiring from the
		office of Treasurer. Carried.

		Mr. Berry moved & Mr. Brooks seconded that the sum
		of Twenty Pounds (£20) be granted to Mr. Marriott
		in recognition of his services to the club. Carried.

		Mr. Brooks deferred his notice of motion
		T Costley's letter read and deferred to next meeting.
		Letter read from Mr. W. Marriott asking for auditors to
		be appointed & the Committee instructed the Finance
		Sub-Committee to arrange with Mr. W. Marriott to balance
		his a/cs.

		The Committee arranged that Messrs Gunning & Wilson
		act as Treasurers for the remainder of this season.

		Mr. A Smith attend the meeting & asked permission
		(on behalf of the Dramatic profession) for the use of
		the ground to play a football match in aid of

202 The possibility of playing baseball at the ground was considered. The ground was felt to be unsuitable.
232 Photograph of players taken at Sunderland. In was agreed that each player should have a copy. The team names: 1st and 2nd team were adopted.
243 £100 to be paid to Mr Houlding towards the Club’s loan account with him.
273 Gordon had to promise to keep in proper condition to play football
274 12 medals were ordered from Vaughton and sons.
