The official Everton Supporters Club of Sweden, the Swedish Toffees, recently visited Liverpool. During their visit they attended an Everton Collection talk, where they discovered more about the background of the Collection and the history of its valuable contents.

Swedish ashtrayAfter the talk the Swedish Toffees presented Max Dunbar, Everton Collection Project Manager, with various memorabilia including a silver ashtray from the 1950 Everton Swedish Tour. Ashtrays were presented to all opposing players by Everton during their 1950 tour. Since three matches were played on the tour, there should be approximately 40 more ashtrays still in existence. The Swedish Toffees purchased this particular ashtray through an online auction and discovered the seller had acquired the ashtray from an antique dealer in Helsingborg. It seems likely that this ashtray belonged to a player from Helsingborgs IF.

The Everton Collection Charitable Trust wish to thank the Swedish Toffees for their generous donations and look forward to seeing them in Liverpool again!
