The Everton Collection is looking to work in partnership with Secondary School Teachers to help create free resources for Key Stage 3-4

The Everton Collection Schools and Learning Programme has been successfully delivered to primary schools in Liverpool since September 2009. The project is now moving into the next phase which involves extending some of the learning programmes activities to teachers and pupils at Key Stage 3 and 4.

The Everton Collection learning programme uses the archives of Everton Football Club from the 1880s to present to make creative links to the National Curriculum and to inspire pupils to learn. Currently the programme takes a cross-curricular approach, making links to English, History and Citizenship Programmes of Study. However, there is the potential to explore other areas such as Maths, Science and Design and Technology and to support the cross-curricular dimensions, particularly Identity and Culture and Creativity and Critical Thinking.

We would like to invite secondary school teachers to work in partnership with the Everton Collection's Creative Learning Officer to create online learning resources for Key Stage 3 and 4. The aim will be to produce at least three new learning resources that will be available to download from the Everton Collection's website from September 2010.

Teachers that become involved will need to make a commitment to...

-
Attend a face to face meeting with the Creative Learning Officer to discuss the development of learning resources. This would hopefully take place at Liverpool Record Office but may also take place at your school.

- Make suggestions for the creative use of the Everton Collection that make links to the Curriculum.

- Read draft versions of learning resources written by the Creative Learning Officer and make suggestions for how they can be improved.

The benefits of taking part include...

-
Access to Everton Collection resources

- Continual Professional Development

- Opportunity to work with an inspiring and unique collection

- Opportunity to ensure that quality resources, relevant to the needs of teachers, are available to your school and others
